Minimalism Meets Rustic Countryside In Quaint Finnish Lake House

Minimalism Meets Rustic Countryside In Quaint Finnish Lake House

Nestled in the rural lakeside community of Tenala, Finland, is a quaint lake house, simplistic in its beauty. Designed by architecture firm MNy Arkitekter, House Akerudden displays elements of calm and open space, which mirrors traditional buildings in the area.

The clean and unassuming layout of the house is designed in a way that allows for open-space cooking, relaxing, or some simple quiet time to reflect. The free-standing fireplace in the living room area makes for a very rustic, cozy camp feel, like being at a lodge or family cabin.

What's amazing about this property, is the amount of care and consideration shown when choosing the materials for the build. Seven different kinds of timber were used, ranging from oak, local spruce, black alder, Oregon pine, and more.
